Orono and Holy Family Catholic each opened league play last week with losses in the tough Wright County Conference East Division.  The Spartans (3-1) and the Fire (3-1) square off this week looking to rebound with a victory. Hutchinson, No. 1 in Class 4A, defeated Orono 35-0 while Holy Family Catholic lost in a shootout with Waconia 55-36.

The Spartans must slow Fire senior quarterback Hank Hopkins, who threw for 258 yards, five touchdowns and one interception to lead Holy Family Catholic in last week's loss. He also had a team-high 66 rushing yards. Senior wide receiver Andy Nelson finished with seven catches for 105 yards and three touchdowns.

Orono, No. 5-4A, won this matchup in both of the last two seasons.
