Eden Prairie at Bloomington Jefferson
7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27

Eden Prairie has been on a bit of a roller coaster ride the last two weeks. The Eagles started the season with 14 consecutive wins but dropped back-to-back games at No. 1-3A DeLaSalle (66-58 on Jan. 13) and at No. 6-4A Hopkins (75-67 on Jan. 16). Eden Prairie responded with victories over Minneapolis South (77-66 on Jan. 20), Edina (83-77 on Jan. 23) and at Chaska (66-65 on Jan. 24).

Which way the Eagles go next on their ride will be determined by a matchup with Bloomington Jefferson on Jan. 27.

The Jaguars (12-3) are rolling and have yet to lose a game in the new year, reeling off six consecutive wins since a 73-68 loss to Minnetonka on Dec. 29.

Three seniors lead Eden Prairie in scoring. Guards Grantham Gillard (18.9 points per game) and Blake Cashman (10.2 ppg) give the Eagles a solid backcourt, while center Josh Lanasa (10.7) is Eden Prairie's inside presence.

The Jaguars' top offensive threat is 6-foot-8 senior center Tom Gathje (16.3 ppg). Senior guard Eric Rasmussen (10.2 ppg) provides a spark from the backcourt.

The last time the teams met was in the 2013 Section 2 championship game, where Eden Prairie defeated Bloomington Jefferson 67-52.
