Hill-Murray at Lakeville South
2:45 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28

Hill-Murray has rolled through its first three games of the season, including a 9-0 thrashing of No. 11-2A Lakeville North on Nov. 20.

The Pioneers seem to be in class of their own following victories over No. 1-1A Blake (3-1 on Nov. 10) and No. 5-2A Eden Prairie (4-1 on Nov. 14), and a game with No. 3-2A Edina on Dec. 9 looms for Hill-Murray in a rematch of last year’s Class 2A state tournament semifinals.

But first, the No. 1-2A Pioneers have to contend with defending Class 2A, Section 1 champion Lakeville South.

The Cougars started the season with a 3-0 loss to Eden Prairie but enter the game off a 4-2 win against Lakeville North. Janna Haeg, Shelby Schneider and Abby Scheafer each scored in the win, while Halle Gill put the game away with an empty-net goal. The No. 8-2A Cougars outshot Lakeville North 40-21.

Lakeville South rolled past Apple Valley 5-0 on Nov. 21 with goals from Emily Fischler, Haeg, Gill, Ellie Lauderdale and Taylor Stefan.

Senior goalie Chloe Crosby stopped 19 shots against the Panthers and had 38 saves against the Eagles.

Abigail Boreen leads Hill-Murray with four goals and four assists while Lindsey Featherstone (2-4-6) and Mekenzie Steffen (3-2-5) help get the Pioneers offense going.
