Proctor/Hermantown at St. Paul United
2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28

Proctor/Hermantown’s riding high after exorcising the effects of last year’s Class 1A, Section 7 championship loss to Hibbing/Chisholm with a 3-0 victory over the Bluejackets on Nov. 17.

The No. 7-1A Mirage is off to a 4-1 start, with their only loss coming against Hopkins in a 5-4 overtime game on Nov. 14.

Sophie McGovern (6-7-13), Callie Hoff (6-5-11) and Mikayla Kero (5-0-5) lead the offense for Proctor/Hermantown, which also owns a 3-1 win over No. 10-1A New Prague. Kero has a goal in each of the past two games while Hoff opened the season with a four-game scoring streak.

Mirage goalie Amy Lemenager is 4-0 with a .75 goals-against average and a .961 save percentage.

Proctor/Hermantown will need to find a way to slow down a powerful St. Paul United team that hasn’t scored fewer than three goals in a game this season.

The No. 4-1A Spartans (6-0) have averaged 6.4 goals per game and knocked off No. 9-1A Red Wing 5-2 on Nov. 17 with two goal apiece from Sena Hanson and Lauren Boettcher. St. Paul United outshot the Wingers 40-16.

Hanson (8-5-13) and Boettcher (5-8-13) have proven to be a dangerous tandem, and sophomore Samantha Burke leads the team with eight goals and eight assists.

Senior goalie Catherine Johnson, a Minnesota-Duluth commit, has stopped 86 of 91 shots for a 1.00 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage.
