Centennial at Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids
7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 24

Centennial’s 2-3 record shouldn’t dissuade anyone from taking the team seriously this season. Two of the losses have come in overtime as the Cougars fell to No. 2-1A Breck (3-2 on Nov. 14) and No. 7-2A Maple Grove (3-2 on Nov. 17). Centennial’s other defeat came against No. 9-2A Elk River in a 5-3 game.

Cougars sophomore Gabbie Hughes begins the week tied for the most goals in the state this season with 12 following a seven-goal performance in a 14-2 victory over North Metro on Nov. 10. She also had a hat trick in a 6-0 victory over Robbinsdale-Armstrong/Cooper on Nov. 21 and netted a goal against Breck and Maple Grove.

Anneke Linser has contributed to the offense for No. 16-2A Centennial, tallying six goals and eight assists, including two goals and two assists in the victory over the Wings.

Cougars senior goalie Anne Juergens has a .919 save percentage in five games and faced a combined 99 shots against Maple Grove and Breck.

Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids is in the first year of a co-op, and the early returns have been good as the team is off to a 3-1 start, including a 5-4 win over defending Class 2A, Section 7 champion Andover.

Senior and Clarkson commit Taylor Turnquist (6-5-11) and Lily Hackett (4-5-9) have paced No. 20-2A Spring Lake Park/Coon Rapids. The team will try to bounce back after a 5-4 overtime loss to Anoka on Nov. 21, in which it twice rallied to tie the game before losing.
