BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S 4, BLAINE 3: The No. 2, Class 4A Red Knights fell behind 3-0 halfway through the second before scoring four unanswered goals en route to the first 8-0-0 start in team history. Connor Mayer kicked off the scoring with a power-play goal at 3:34 of the second period. He also added two assists, including one on Nick Austin’s game-winner with 4:40 left in the third period. Benilde-St. Margaret’s goalie Ryan Bischel stopped 26 of 29 Blaine shots, including all 16 he faced in the third period, preserving the victory.

CENTENNIAL 5, DULUTH EAST 3: The slide continued for the No. 3, 2A Greyhounds, who lost for the third time in six days. Junior Graham Brickner and senior Stephen Heron each scored two first-period goals for Centennial, which spotted Duluth East a 2-1 lead, then roared back with 3 goals in a span of 4:16 seconds to take a 4-2 lead into the first intermission. Duluth East, which outshot Centennial 32-23, cut the margin to one on a second-period goal by Ian Mageau, but couldn’t complete the comeback. Centennial’s Tyler Nyman scored a late empty netter to seal the Cougars win.

HILL-MURRAY 4, MAHTOMEDI 2: Junior goalie Jake Begley saved 31 of 33 shots for the Pioneers. Three Hill-Murray skaters -- Joey Petronack, Austin Peterson and Brock Bremer – each had 2 points for Hill-Murray. Mahtomedi’s Jack Heinsch and Andrew Kangas each had goals.

CHAMPLIN PARK 2, CHISAGO LAKES 1: Brady Swanstrom’s goal with 59 seconds left in the third period lifted Champlin Park to the victory. The Rebels led 1-0 after two periods, but Chisago Lakes tied the game early in the this period when Christian Haskins whistled one home at 1:43 into the period. Brennan Boynton saved 20 of 21 shots to earn the victory.

HENRY SIBLEY 8, RED WING 2: Senior Johnny Geiser clinched a hat trick in the third period to lead the Warriors past the Wingers. Nick Mahmood scored twice and had three assists as well. Junior goalie Charlie Harrity stopped 29 of 31 shots in the winning effort. Tanner Luhman and Theodore Lillico scored for Red Wing.   

MINNETONKA 6, CHANHASSEN 3: A four-goal second period blitz pushed the Skippers past the Storm. Six different players had goals for Minnetonka: Pierson Pass, Dominic Picciano, Mitch McGannon, David Andes, Grant Docter and Brendan Ryan. Eric Worre scored twice for Chanhassen.
