Holy Family Catholic vs. Stillwater
Sports Authority Holiday Classic at the St. Louis Park Rec Center
5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28

Holy Family Catholic and Stillwater tangle in the Sports Authority Holiday Classic at the St. Louis Park Rec Center, a matchup between two of this season's top trending teams.

Stillwater has yet to lose while Holy Family Catholic fell on opening night. The No. 10-2A Fire, however, play one of the more difficult nonconference schedules, and their 7-3 record shows both sides of that.

The No. 4-2A Ponies (8-0) have been impressive, but this will be their first time facing a ranked team since opening the year with a 6-5 win at Lakeville North on Dec. 1.

Stillwater is led in scoring by junior forwards T.J. Saggisor, who has 11 goals and 18 points in seven games, and Luke Manning (7-11-18).

Holy Family Catholic has worked its way through a favorable schedule in the Wright County Conference and have stepped outside to face titan programs like No. 5-2A Edina, No. 6-2A Wayzata, No. 19-2A St. Thomas Academy, No. 14-2A Minnetonka, Maple Grove and No. 2-1A Breck.

It’s the kind of slate the Fire need to play if they really want to develop into a team that is a major player in Class 2A's ultra-competitive Section 2, which includes not only the Skippers but also No. 2-ranked Eden Prairie.

Senior forward Will Garin, who has 11 goals and nine assists in nine games, leads the Fire. Junior defenseman Matt Anderson has been steady as well, tallying 15 assists and 16 points this season.
