Rochester John Marshall at Farmington
7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23

In an interesting nonconference matchup between teams that could eventually dethrone Lakeville North to capture the Class 2A, Section 1 crown, Rochester John Marshall heads to Farmington in a game that serves as a measuring stick of sorts for both sides.

The Rockets (6-2) lead the Big 9 Conference on the back of steady offensive production and sound goaltending. Rochester John Marshall has a power play that is converting at 36.4 percent, while senior forward Isaac Lamppa has a team-best 11 goals this season. In net, senior goalie Brady Meyers has a .927 save percentage and a 1.93 goals-against average.

The No. 17-2A Tigers (5-3-1) continue to expand their footprint in the South Suburban Conference and beyond. Farmington has stumbled a bit during a brutal nonconference scheduler, but it already has a signature win after knocking off No. 8-2A Lakeville North 5-3 on Dec. 10.
