East Grand Forks and Bemidji are two of the teams battling for the Mariucci Conference crown, and they skated to a 1-1 tie in their first meeting Dec. 15.

The rematch on Thursday night in Bemidji will help shape the league title race.

The No. 9-2A Lumberjacks (11-1-2) continue to be impressive as a balanced team that can outscore opponents (averaging 4.79 goals for, 1.71 allowed), as well as kill penalties (39 of 43 for 91 percent).

Bemidji has won four straights since suffering its only loss this season, a 4-3 overtime defeat to Cloquet-Esko-Carlton at the Marshall Hilltopper Holiday Classic in Duluth on Dec. 29.

Junior forward Brady Tatro leads the Lumberjacks with 11 goals and 23 points through 14 games.

East Grand Forks (10-4-1) is on a three-game winning streak. Senior Tanner Tweten leads the No. 10-1A Green Wave with 10 goals and 21 points in 15 games.
