Farmington at Lakeville North
7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21

A rematch of a Dec. 10 meeting in Farmington (won by the Tigers 5-3), Lakeville North hosts its South Suburban and Class 2A, Section 1 rival Thursday night with payback in mind.

The No. 9-2A Panthers (11-4-1) are not the portrait of perfection they were when capturing the state title a year ago. That said, after a slow start to the new season and a disappointing showing at the Sports Authority Holiday Hockey Classic, Lakeville North looks to have figured some things out.

The Panthers enter Thursday night having won six straight and are scoring in droves, averaging nearly seven goals per game since the start of the new year.

Senior captain Max Johnson, who committed to Bowling Green, has 22 goals and 10 assists through 16 games, and junior center Ryan Poehling, a St. Cloud State recruit, has 13 goals and 22 assists to lead the team with 35 points.

Junior Henry Enebak has a team-high 23 assists to compliment 10 goals for 33 points.

The No. 16-2A Tigers (9-5-1) have another good opportunity to make an impact on the section seeding process with a victory over the defending section champs.

In this season's first meeting, Farmington survived an effort from Lakeville North that saw the Panthers convert on three of four power-play chances and outshoot the Tigers 43-21 on the night.

Farmington is led in scoring by seniors Wyatt Jensen (11-10-21) and Erik Holmstrom (9-22-31). Between the pipes, sophomore goaltender Gavin Enright has been solid with a .904 save percentage and a 2.49 goals-against average.
