Holy Family Catholic vs. Wayzata
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17

A 2-1 loss to No. 7-2A St. Thomas Academy last week ended Holy Family Catholic's four-game winning streak, and the No. 5-2A Fire look to string together another run of victories while playing three straight road games, including at Wayzata on Saturday.

Holy Family Catholic is outscoring opponents by nearly 3.0 goals per game, but it's the Fire's special teams that have stood out, as they are killing penalties at a 92 percent clip.

Junior goaltender Jared Moe has also been solid, sporting a 4-1 record, a .949 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average.

Wayzata continues to trudge through the early season as it rebuilds following last year's Class 2A state championship. Despite their 1-4 record, the No. 13-2A Trojans have been close in most games while enduring one of the state's toughest schedules.

Offense has been tough to generate for the Trojans, who average 2.0 goals per game and have no one on the roster with more than two goals this season. That said, they continue playing a brand of physical, team hockey that has kept them competitive.
