Park Center at Champlin Park
7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24

Class 4A juggernaut Champlin Park faces its toughest Northwest Suburban Conference test in an interdivision matchup on Tuesday against Park Center, a Class 4A, Section 5 opponent.

The Rebels starting rotation rarely sees the entirety of a game because Champlin Park (12-0, 7-0) has held comfortable leads in every game this season, with 11 of them having ended with the No. 1-4A Rebels ahead by 17 or more points.

Dayton prospect McKinley Wright (23.2 ppg) leads five players who average double digits for Champlin Park, while Marquette commit Theo John is nearly averaging a double-double (13.3 points, 9.1 rebounds per game) and is second in the state with 58 blocks on the year.

Park Center (11-2, 6-1) is riding a four-game winning streak, as the No. 13-4A Pirates have found more balanced scoring in their lineup.

Idaho signee Losini Kamara (11.8 ppg) will be tasked with slowing down Wright, while the emergence of D.J. Purnell (11.2 ppg), who’s scored double figures the past five games for Park Center, is sure to help the Pirates.
