Cedar Mountain-Comfrey at Springfield
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24

Both teams suffered losses in their season openers, but have since put together impressive runs. However, one team's string of success will have to come to an end on Tuesday when these Tomahawk Conference and Class 1A, Section 2 rivals meet.

Springfield fell to Mountain Lake 65-62 on Dec. 2, but used a 88-70 romping of Cedar Mountain-Comfrey on Dec. 6 as a springboard to a 13-game winning streak.

Isaac Fink led the Tigers (13-1, 9-0) with 26 points in No. 10-1A Springfield’s 98-69 win over Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday. Fink posted a 21-point, 16-rebound double-double in the Tigers' first meeting with the Cougars.

Cedar Mountain-Comfrey is an improved team since its loss to the Tigers, riding an 11-game winning streak.

Derek Pendleton and Logan Kelly are the lone seniors on a No. 19-1A Cougars team that is largely sophomores.
