Elk River at Hill-Murray
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24

Two traditionally strong programs square off Tuesday night in Elk River as the No. 3-ranked Elks host No. 4-ranked Hill-Murray in a clash of Class 2A titans.

Elk River (14-3, 6-1) got back on track with a pair of shutout victories last week after falling to Centennial (5-1) on Jan. 14. The Elks are scoring goals at a rate of 4.47 per game, while allowing only 1.71 goals per game on the defensive end.

Senior defenseman Nick Perbix, a St. Cloud State commit, is having an outstanding season with 26 points (5-21-26) and helps run the Elks' offense from the blue line.

Hill-Murray (12-3-1, 7-0-1) enters the week with a big tailwind after picking up a road victory over No. 2-2A Edina Saturday night. The Pioneers are a balanced team, averaging three goals better (4.50 to 1.44) than their opponents this season.

First line center Kyler Yeo (5-16-21) is having a strong senior season and leads the team in assists. Brock Bremer (11-15-26) leads the team in points, and Emmet Nath (14-2-16) leads the team in goals, including a team-high four power play goals.

In goal, Jake Begley has been fantastic with a save percentage of .948 and goals-against average of 1.15 that are both first in the state.
