Eden Prairie vs. Edina
3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4

A Class 2A top-4 showdown is set for Saturday at Braemar Arena, as No. 2 Eden Prairie faces No. 4 Edina in the last of four meetings this season between these Lake Conference giants.

Eden Prairie (12-4-2, 4-1) currently sits atop the Lake standings, and with a six-game winning streak, the Eagles are playing as well as anyone in Class 2A’s top 10 rankings. The current run includes a 5-3 home win over the Hornets on Jan. 19. Eden Prairie holds a 2-1 edge in wins over the Hornets this season.

Senior center Casey Mittelstadt (13-25-38) continues to lead the Eagles in scoring, while the team has a solid No. 1 goalie in senior Nick Wiencek, whose 9-3-1 record, .930 save percentage, and 1.68 goals-against average have been a stabilizing force.

Edina (14-5-1, 3-2) continues to show streaks of brilliance before stumbling.

Junior Sam Walker (17-19-36) leads the Hornets in scoring and is supported by Junior Lewis Crosby (13-19-32), senior Bram Scheerer (14-15-29) and sophomore Jett Jungels (16-12-28).
