Warroad vs. Roseau
7p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31

Roseau holds a 98-67-4 record against Warroad in what is perhaps the State of Hockey's biggest rivalry, one that dates back to 1945.

The Rams won the first meeting this season, outshooting the Warriors 29-17 in the 2-0 victory. The game saw 11 minor penalties issued -- six for roughing.

Roseau (13-6, 4-2) has put together the kind of season that could earn the program its 35th section title and send the team to the state tournament for the first time since 2014. Competition is tough in Class 2A's Section 8, but the Rams have emerged as major players.

Seniors Bryden Stoskopf (14-19-33) and Brandon Lund (14-13-27) continue to produce offensively for the Roseau.

Warroad (7-12-1, 1-6) is having a down year and is upside down in its goals differential (2.70 to 2.90), with inconsistency marring the collective effort. The Warriors have won back-to-back games only once this season, though after a 4-0 victory last Saturday night over Duluth Denfeld, Warroad has the opportunity to do it again should they knock off Roseau.

Senior forward Beau Wilmer (12-10-22) leads the Warriors in scoring.
