Delano vs. Holy Family Catholic
7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7

The top two teams in the Wright County Conference square off Tuesday night in a rematch of Holy Family Catholic's 10-1 trouncing of Delano on Jan. 12.

Delano (18-2-1, 9-1) has been outstanding for most of the season, but when the Fire came to town, it took mere minutes for the Tigers to be knocked out of the game.

Since that avalanche loss, Delano has won eight straight games, averaging nearly seven goals per game (6.81), while allowing less than three (2.62).

Senior forwards Ben Meyers (33-46-83) and Brian Halonen (33-37-70) continue to put up huge numbers for the high-powered Tigers offense.

Holy Family Catholic (17-3-1, 6-0) enters the week having proven to be one of the the deepest teams in the state, boasting eight players with between seven and 14 goals this season.

In their short history,  the No. 5-2A Fire have always been able to score a lot of goals, but the team’s defensive ability has been almost as impressive this season. The Fire are allowing just 1.48 goals per game, while goaltender Jared Moe has posted a .924 save percentage, a 1.48 goals-against average and four shutouts.
