Robbinsdale Armstrong at Robbinsdale Cooper
7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18
At New Hope Ice Arena

Armstrong has held the edge in this crosstown rivalry in recent years, although players on both teams are old enough to remember Cooper’s 2011 victory over the Falcons, the program’s first (and only) since 1995. Numbers are down in the Cooper program, which has revived talk of a possible co-op between the two rivals. Keep an eye on Cooper’s Trey Rooney, the son of coach Bill Rooney. He’s a legitimate sniper with great skating skills and the ability to play in all three zones. He scored 43 points as a freshman and already has 43 points midway through his sophomore campaign.
