No. 9 Eden Prairie at No. 4 Wayzata

MN Hockey Hub Spotlight Game

Just one point separates the top three teams in the Lake Conference heading into the second round of head-to-head games. Wayzata and Edina are tied atop the circuit, with Eden Prairie just a point off that pace. The Eagles can really muddy the waters further with a victory at the Plymouth Ice Center on Saturday night. Back on Jan. 16 the teams played a scoreless game deep into the third period before Wayzata’s Jack Sorensen (12-7-19) netted the game-winner — and only goal. Vaughn Ahrens (10-4-1, 1.57, .930) was terrific in goal for the Trojans, stopping all 33 shots he faced. He’s been the anchor for Wayzata, which doesn’t put up big goal totals. In fact, Sorensen is the only player with double-digit goals and is second to Max Zimmer (8-14-22) in scoring.
