Woodbury battles North St. Paul to Premier final dance with Eagan

The Overtime Radio Show recaps and discusses three different tournaments that are underway in high school hockey.

Period one features the South St. Paul Premier Tournament as the Woodbury Royals topped the North St. Paul Polars by a score of 2-1 in a well played defensive tussle.  Woodbury head coach Wes Bolin provides his post game thoughts and looks ahead to the challenge in the final game against the Eagan Wildcats.  Royals goalie Josh Erickson, who made 18 saves and kept the high scoring George Splichal at bay, picked up the win and joins the show.

The Schwan Cup Silver division had two tight games that featured the Breck Mustangs win over the Lakeville South Cougars.  After leading 5-1, the Mustangs saw a surge by the Cougars yet held on for the 6-4 win.  Les Larson shared his wisdom after the game from the Breck perspective and it was Kurt Weber, who was pleased with his team's fight discussing the Cougars effort with Tim Kolehmainen.

A 'skills competition' or shootout was required for the Forest Lake Rangers to get past conference rival Roseville in the other semi-final of the Schwan Cup Silver division.  We will hear from both coaches, Jeff Pauletti of Roseville and Aaron Forsythe of the Rangers.

Last but certainly not least, the Duluth East Greyhounds welcomed back Trevor Olson who provided a hat trick in his team's 4-2 win over the Burnsville Blaze in the opening round.  Olson checks in with his comments and Mike Randolph opines as well.

A new Overtime Radio Show posts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon.
