Three words or phrases your friends or teammates might use to describe you? Dedicated; hard-working; focused.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Home" by Dierks Bentley; "Tattoos On This Town" by Jason Aldean; "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? Our practices come right after the school day is done, so when I get home my focus shifts directly to my school work, which does get me into trouble with some friends. After my homework is complete, I have the rest of the day to myself, family or friends.

How did you get started playing hockey? My parents were the ones that initially got me into hockey at a young age, and my brother helped strengthen my love for the game over the coming years by shooting pucks at me in our basement, talking to me before and after games, and also just being a good role model in my life.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... very nervous. Everyone was twice my size and everyone looked so talented and fast.

What was your most memorable moment as a high school hockey player? I don't have a most memorable moment, but the season this year is one I will definitely remember for my whole life.

The best sports advice you ever received? "Always put everything you have into anything that you do, then you will never have anything to hang your head about." -- Dad
