#3 Centennial 15   Coon Rapids 3
The Centennial Cougars had their way Thursday evening in the Northwest Suburban Conference as they hammered the Coon Rapids Cardinals 15-3. The Cougars scored 7 in the first, added 6 more in the second, and closed out the game with 2 more in the third for the lopsided win. Willie Hess (4g-2a-6pts), Jordan Lovick (1g-5a-6pts), Joe Schmitz (1g-3a-4pts), James Hughes (2g-2a-4pts), Tyler Pitlick (1g-2a-3pts), Charlie Aus (2a), David Schreiner (2g), Brett Stern (1g-1a), and Riley Colvard (2g) all registered multiple point efforts in the Centennial win. Bill Hirschi assisted on two of the Cardinals goals to lead his team. Centennial (2-0) heads to Champlin Park for a game with the Rebels Saturday. The Cardinals (0-3) host the Blaine Bengals on Saturday.
#7 Jefferson 3 Wayzata 2
The Bloomington Jefferson Jagaurs repelled the challenge of the Wayzata Trojans as they benefited from a late third period goal by Caleb Herbert. Billy Soule opened the scoring for the Trojans at 13:21 of the first period to give Wayzata (1-3-1) the 1-0 lead after one period. Tyler Dietzler scored his 4th power play goal at :31 of the second period to tie it at one. It was a spirited well contested game.  After Joe Faust gave Jefferson (4-0) the 2-1 lead entering the third period, Wayzata responded back on a Scott Holm power play goal at 1:56 to tie the game. That set up Herbert’s heroics. The game winning Herbert goal came with 1:33 remaining in regulation. The shots on goal favored Jeffeson 29-25. Ty Simcoe was in goal for Wayzata while Casey O’Connor picked up the win for the Jags. Lakeville South awaits the Jags for a game Saturday at BIG. The Trojans heads to Orono for another non conference game.
#8 Eden Prairie 7   Lakeville North 3
The Eden Prairie Eagles continued its goal scoring savagery as they notched a 7-3 Lake Conference win over the Lakeville North Panthers. In three games, the Eagles (3-0) have scored an impressive 21 goals while only giving up 6. Nick Leddy continues to show why he is one of the best defensemen in the State as he scored a goal and an assist to help lead his team. Talyor Wolfe scored twice and added an assist to the score ledger, while Joe McQuillan scored once and added two assists. Kyle Rau and Mitch Rogge each had 2 assists for the Eagles. After trailing 3-2 midway through the second period, the Eagles erupted for 5 unanswered goals. The Panthers (1-3) Nick Johnson scored  a goal and had an assist while Nate Arentz chipped in the same effort for the Panthers (1g-1a). Each team has Lake Conference games on Saturday as North hosts Eagan and the Eagles battle Chaska at the EP Community Center.
#10 Roseau 6   East Grand Forks 1
Tyler Landman notched a hat trick and added an assist in leading his Roseau Rams to a 6-1 win of the East Grand Forks Green Wave. Adam Knochenmus (2g-1a-3pts) also contributed in the offensive end of things for the Rams (2-1-1). The Green Wave (2-2) fell behind 3-0 midway through the second period. Jake Useldinger scored his 8th of the season on the power play, yet that would be all they could muster on the road. The Rams host Moorhead in a big Mariucci Conference game. Roseau is 2-0 in the conference while the Moorhead Spuds will be playing their first conference affair of the season. East Grand Forks, who is 0-2 in Mariucci action, is set to play Lake of the Woods/Indus Saturday. 
Moorhead 7 Bemidji 1
Trent Johnson scored twice as the Moorhead Spuds utilized 6 different goal scorers as they defeated the Bemidji Lumberjacks 7-1 in Mariucci Conference action. Alex Altenbernd (1g-2a-3pts), and Johnson (2g-1a-3pts) paced it for the Spuds who had 5 players pick up at least one goal and an assist. Even though Moorhead was short handed ten times Bemidji could only strike on a Jared Bergquist power play goal with just under seven minutes in the game. Goalie Michael Bitzer turned aside 19 shots for the victory, his first in as many tries this season. The Spuds are 2-0-1 on the season and will face Grand Rapids at home on Saturday. The Lumberjacks fell to 2-1-0 and head to St. Cloud for a tilt with Apollo.
St. Thomas Academy 5 Tartan 1
The St. Thomas Academy Cadets fired 42 shots at the Tartan Titan net and notched an impressive 5-1 Classic Suburban Conference win.   The Cadets AJ Reid and Titans Jake McKee exchanged goals less than a minute apart for a 1-1 tie in the second period. Joe Graveline scored what would be the game winner at 8:14 of the same period. Goals by Zach Schroeder, Brady Ramthun, and Christian Isackson paced the way for STA. Kurt Altrichter made 20 saves for the win while Tartan goalie Eric Thayer made 37 Titan saves.
Duluth Denfeld 5   Shakopee 1
Jason Johnson scored two goals and Cody Hotchkin added a goal and assist to lead the Duluth Denfeld Hunters to a 5-1 non conference win over the Skakopee Sabres. After Denfeld took a 4-0 lead, the Sabres responded on a Tyler Neville power play goal late in the third period. Shakopee goalie Augie Lawson turned aside 39 Hunter shots for the game. Denfeld (3-0) is off until next Tuesday when the take on Virginia-Moutain Iron-Buhl at Heritage Arena. Shakopee (1-3) takes to the road and heads to Mankato West to battle the Scarlets.
Mahtomedi 5 Richfield 2
Brandon Zurn scored 2 goals and Tanner Jordan had a goal and assist to lead the Mahtomedi Zephyrs past the Richfield Spartans 5-2. Brad Wholers made 24 saves in helping lead the Zephyrs to their third straight win as they improved to 3-0 on the season. The Spartans fell to 1-2-1 on the season. Andrew Johnson had a goal and an assist in the Spartan effort. On the schedule for the Zephyrs is face of with North St. Paul on Saturday while the Spartans square off with Sibley in West St. Paul Saturday.
Two Harbors 4   Eveleth Gilbert 2
The Two Harbors Agates scored 3 first period goals and never looked back as they defeated the Eveleth Gilbert Golden Bears  4-2. Casey Eckman scored 2 goals and assisted on another while Myles Erickson had a goal and an assist for the Agates. Erik Moe set up a pair of Golden Bear goals. Aaron Lee was the winning goalie for the Agates (1-2) who play Ely Saturday. The Golden Bears (1-3) will have to wait their turn with Ely who is their next tilt on Tuesday.
New Prague 4   Mankato West 2
Tyler Lapic scored his 4th and 5th goals of the season and Zach Adams had a goal and assist to help the New Prague Trojans to a 4-2 win over the Mankato West Scarlets. Despite a 2 assist effort by Drew Weber, the Scarlets (1-2) could not fend off the Trojans (3-2) who held a 30-24 shots advantage. Joe Morris picked up the win in goal making 22 saves. The Trojans travel to Delano Friday evening for a game with Delano/Rockford and the Scarlets take on Winona Saturday afternoon.
