Alex Johnson

The best movie I've seen in the past year? "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod: "One More Time" by Daft Punk, "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore, "Numa Numa" by Ozone.

What are your three favorite apps? Twitter, Pandora, Tiny Wings.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Determined, hard-working, enthusiastic.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... intimidated by Christian Isackson and Justin Crandall. I actually came up from junior varsity for a practice and my first drill was a battle drill with Christian. I lost!

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Beating Hermantown 5-4 in overtime [in 2011] to win the [Class 1A] state championship.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? Getting home at around 7 from the rink is always tough to get school work done. I try and just stay focused from 7 to 9 and get it done. If I don't, I'll usually still go to bed around 9 and try and finish the homework in the morning.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... a working businessman, with a home around the St. Paul area. I also hope to help/work at St. Thomas Academy at some point in my life.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? Never give up on your dreams because anything is possible with hard work. Also, cherish each moment you live, because time flies. I live as an athlete with those two pieces of advice.
