The Horn will add live video streaming to select games.

The Horn, a student-run website covering White Bear Lake Area High School Sports in Minnesota, announced Thursday that The Horn will feature LIVE streaming video to accompany their LIVE audio coverage on select games.

The Horn launched in August 2012 and features LIVE audio of White Bear Lake high school sporting events. Fall sports coverage included 9 White Bear Lake varsity football games, 1 volleyball match, and 16 soccer matches including the Girls Soccer team's run to the Class AA State Championship game.

The Horn's broadcast schedule will now include live streaming video coverage of select events. While all games covered will feature LIVE audio streaming, select games will add LIVE video beginning with the boys hockey rivalry battle between White Bear Lake and rival Hill-Murray on December 18, 2012.

"Adding video was always the plan, but it was something we were going to consider for the 2013-2014 school year because we had a limited budget and resources," said Zach Halverson, President of The Horn. "But thanks to the amazing support from local businesses and the feedback from the community, we were able to make this amazing leap just four months after we launched."

The video player will be embedded inside a live stats interface, allowing viewers to view various stats as they occur. For many of the games, the live statistics are recorded by staff members of The Horn.

Lead play-by-play announcer Zach Halverson will join color commentator Chad Olson on many of the broadcasts. White Bear Lake Area High School sophomores Andrew Carlson and Jeff Blom will broadcast games when Halverson cannot be present due to other commitments.
