Following the death of his grandfather the previous day, Mound-Westonka defenseman Charlie Curti focused all of his energy on the ice Thursday and carried the White Hawks to a 6-3 victory over Chaska.

Curti scored three goals and added an assist. He added a goal Saturday as the White Hawks beat Monticello 4-1 for their third consecutive victory.

"The Thursday game was especially important for Charlie," coach Doug Runke said.

"He channeled a lot of emotion into the game and was a very big reason why the team came away with a win."
