Duluth East, Jefferson, Eden Prairie win among top ten teams

#1 Hill Murray  5   White Bear Lake  2

Isaac Kohls scored two goals and added an assist in leading his Hill Murray Pioneers to a 5-2 non conference victory over neighboring rival White Bear Lake Bears.  After Brandon Wahlin put the Bears in front with a first period goal, it was the Kohls and the Pioneers who responded with 5 unanswered goals.  Ryan Holler had two assists in the victory and goalie Tim Shaughnessy made 17 saves in the victory.  Wahlin added his second goal of the game for the final margin.  Hill Murray remained unbeaten at 7-0 as they prepare for Minnetonka and the Schwan Cup on Monday.  White Bear Lake fell to 6-3 on the season as they will appear in the Schwan Cup on Monday with Centennial.

#2 Duluth East  4   Moorhead  0

Play a game at home and then travel by bus clear across the state and play a game against at top ten team.  It doesn't sound like fun, but fun was what the Duluth East Greyhounds had as they traveled to Moorhead to take on the Spuds.  Fresh off the bus, East scored three first period goals as goalie Matt Cooper made an astounding 37 saves for his 5th shutout in 7 games.  He is on another shutout string as he posted a 5-0 goose egg against Anoka the night before.  Max Tardy had a goal and two assists increasing his season totals to a team leading (7g-5a-12pts).  The Hounds were workmen like in the win and left little doubt as to where they stand among the elite in High School Hockey.  At least for Tuesday night. MyFoxHockey.com viewers will have another chance to check out the Hounds (7-0) as the will appear in the Silver division of the Schwan Cup.  Their opener is against the Breck Mustangs. Meanwhile, Moorhead (5-1-1) will face off with Edina in the Gold division of the Schwan Cup on Monday.

#6 Bloomington Jefferson  6  Apple Valley 1

AJ Siro scored a pair of goals and TJ Gallus had a goal and an assist as the Jaguars defeated teh Apple Valley Eagles 6-1 in Lake Conference play.  The Eagles were 3-1 entering Tuesday night's play in the conference had an opportunity to hold serve as one of the top teams.  Jefferson outshot the Eagles by a 34-11 margin as they utilized five different goal scorers. The Jags (9-0, 5-0) are off until January 3rd when they host the Eden Prairie Eagles.  Apple Valley (4-2, 3-2) faces Buffalo on Wednesday next.

Roseville  5  Lakeville South  4

Despite a Justin Parizek hat trick and assit, the Lakeville South Cougars could not overcome the Roseville Raiders Tuesday night.  Tom Debace scored twice for the Raiders as Austin Lensing had a goal and an assist. His tally would prove to be the game winner has his club took a 5-2 lead to the locker room after two periods.  The Cougars (3-4, 2-3) face off with Rosemount on January 3rd while the Raiders (4-3,3-0) take on the Blake Bears this coming Saturday.

Rochester Mayo  9  Farmington  4

The Rochester Mayo Spartans broke open a 3-3 tie with 5 unanswered goals to cruise to the 9-4 victory over the Farmington Tigers in non conference action.  Alex Whitney (2g-3a-5pts), Tom Alexander (2g-1a-3pts), Drew Block (2g), Rick Weber (2a), and Brad Fisher (1g-1a-2pts) all had mulitiple point games to lead their team.  Spartan goalie Jordan Yaggy made 21 saves in the win.  Tyler Grubb had a goal and an assist for the Tigers (4-3) allowed 9 goals for the second straight game to a Rochester team as they fell 9-1 to Lourdes last week.  They face Owatonna next.  Mayo will take on Hastings next Monday.
