Brett Gravelle

Position: I play center and left wing. I prefer playing center.

What are your strengths? I think I move the puck pretty well. I'm not scoring as many goals but I'm getting quite a few assists.

Do you prefer to score goals or set up a teammate to score? I prefer to help someone else score. I like getting assists. It's something I've always done.

Forest Lake looks to be improving. Why? We have good balance. Last year, we had two really good players. This year, everyone knows they have to contribute. They can't rely on anyone else.

What has been the best game so far? When we beat Grand Rapids 2-0 in the second game of the season. The whole team played fantastic.

How long have you been playing hockey? I started skating when I was 3 years old. I started playing hockey when I was 4.

Your father is the Forest Lake baseball coach. Do you play baseball? I play baseball. But hockey is my favorite. My dad knows that. He loves hockey, too.

Why? I don't know. I just love playing with my friends. We've always had a rink in our backyard, and I just love getting out with friends and skating and getting the fresh air.

What's the best experience in hockey? I love fresh ice. I love going out on super-smooth ice.

The worst hockey smell? It has to be my gloves. Even after you've washed your hands, if you put them on for a few seconds, your hands will stink for 30 minutes.
