Huge Nothwest Suburban Conference Game Thursday

The Maple Grove Crimson are in the midst of their best season ever and the #8 ranked team will be facing off with the Blaine Bengals Thursday night in another double meaning game. Both teams sport 13-2-1 records along with Centennial who is 13-2-1 forcing a three way tie for the Northwest Suburban Conference as the season comes to a close. The double meaning surrounds the winner who will be able to keep pace with the Centennial Cougars. Second, if Blaine defeats the Crimson, they will have an all important 2-0 record against Maple Grove that will figure in on the Section 5AA seedings. To be seeded #1 in section, winning the Northwest Suburban will be critical to earning a trip to the State tournament. The #2 and #3 seed that could be anyone of the three; Blaine, Centennial, or Maple Grove would be forced to play two tough games to the Section 5AA final. Blaine won the first meeting with Maple Grove 6-1.
