Cloquet coach Dave Esse is featured in the September edition of USA Hockey Magazine as the Coach of the Month.

Esse, a standout player at Cloquet before graduating in 1985, served as an assistant coach for the Lumberjacks before taking over as head coach. He has guided the Lumberjacks to two state tournament appearances and a 223-138-21 record in 14 seasons.

Cloquet, a co-operative program with Carlton and Esko, has a combined enrollment of 1,070 and opts to play up in the Class 2A playoffs.
