Hyden

Hyden, a left wing, is the second-leading returning scorer for the Panthers’ boys’ hockey team his season. Here is a closer look at Hyden:

The best movie you’ve seen in the last year? “World War Z.”

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are … “Getting Unstuck” by Les Brown; “This is War” by Thirty Seconds to Mars; “Candles” by Jez Dior.

Three words your friends or teammates might use to describe you: Productive; encouraging; determined.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … eager to prove myself.

What did you work on most prior to the start of the season? Controlling and handling the puck more smoothly on the ice.

What are your goals for the upcoming season? My goals for this school year as an athlete are to create a greater camaraderie within our team and to give everything I have to my team on and off the ice with no regrets.

What is your favorite pre-game meal? Chicken and sweet potatoes.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Having the privilege to play at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul last year in the Class 2A hockey state tournament.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I make sure I set aside time every night to finish homework. I try really hard during the school day to finish homework, so after school I can just focus on playing hockey.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers because I have attended their games since I was 5 years old.

In 10 years, I hope I’m … in the Army Special Forces.
