Feb. 10: Showdown in the Suburban East highlights our top games of the week

Expect no Valentine’s eve love between Cretin-Derham Hall and White Bear Lake, each of whom hopes to stake its claim as the Suburban East Conference champion with a victory Thursday night. Entering the final week of the regular season, the Bears lead the SEC by a single point over Cretin-Derham Hall, although they have played one fewer game.

That makes Thursday night’s game the likely championship game between two teams who have been surging recently — and an overwhelming choice as our top game of the week of Feb. 10-16, 2014.
