Team learning on the fly as players find comfort zone

Metro West of the Elite II league has a 3-7-1 record in what so far has been a learning experience for a team with 19 players new to not only the league but most of their teammates.

Just six Metro West players have Elite II experience, including goaltender Alex Clayton (Wayzata).

The Metro West roster is comprised of players from Buffalo, Delano, Hutchinson, Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake, Mound, Orono, Robbinsdale Armstrong, Robbinsdale Cooper, Sartell, Sauk Rapids and Wayzata.

Clayton has shared the goaltending duties with Trent Kallas (Robbinsdale Cooper) and Andrew McIntyre (Wayzata). Supporting their efforts is a defensive corps led by league veterans Matt Pearson (Mound), Jack Goihl (Armstrong) and Marc Richards (Wayzata).  Joining them are David Reynolds (Wayzata), Isaac Smith (Armstrong), Sam Klein (Buffalo) and Nick Vatnsdal (Delano).

Leading the way at the forward position are league veterans Evan Hesse (Monticello), Ross Luedtke (Orono) and John Myhra (Wayzata).  Players getting their first experience at this level include Mike Bonnell (Buffalo), Bryan Tabery (Wayzata), Danny Dmohoski (Armstrong), Drake Hunter (Delano), Erik Anderson (Sauk Rapids), Gage Torrel (Monticello), Jack Becker (Buffalo), Guy Danielson (Orono), Luke Seaburg (Armstrong), Matthew Husmann (Sartell) and Tanner Grina (Hutchinson).
