Warroad senior Brock Nelson scored three goals, including two in the opening period, as Team Minnesota Red registered a stunningly lopsided 10-3 victory over defending champion Shattuck-St. Mary's on Sunday in the championship game of the Bauer National Invitational Tournament at New Hope Arena.

Minnesota Red also got first-period goals from Willie Corrin (International Falls) and Christian Isackson (St. Thomas Academy) as it surged to a 4-0 lead.

Second-period goals by Garrett Hendrickson (Virginia) on a power play and Isackson, his second of the game, helped Minnesota Red build its lead to 6-0.

Max Gaede (Woodbury) also had two goals for Minnesota Red.

Zane Gothberg (Thief River Falls) and Dan Harper (Blaine) shared the goaltending duties for Minnesota Red, and each finished with 18 saves. Gothberg did not allow a goal in the 28 minutes he played and was credited with the win.
