Inexperience in all areas was a question for the Rebels entering the season.  For the second game in a row, the Rebels were able to put their youth aside and out work their opponent, this time with a different outcome.

After suffering a 4-1 setback against Roseville in the season opener despite holding the edge in shots, the Rebels found their scoring touch with a 6-2 victory over Rochester Mayo.  What’s even better news for the Rebels is six different players scored and all lines contributed.

The Rebels got off to a quick start by scoring two goals in the games first two minutes.  Carl Ness notched this first varsity goal at the 1:00 mark followed by Guy Anderson’s first varsity goal 30 seconds later.

Mike Bickford and Alec Robinson padded the Rebels lead with second period goals, while the team rifled 14 shots at the Mayo net minder.

Keeping with consistency, the third period was identical to the first two as the Rebels continued to buzz the Mayo net with Max Heytens and Shane Peterson pounding home two more goals.  Petersons’ tally was on the power play with only six seconds left.

The Rebels open conference play on Thursday Dec. 17th at home against Maple Grove.
