Cretin-Derham Hall is upset by White Bear Lake

• CLASS 6A, SECTION 4: Brendan Whalen’s 59-yard TD pass to Andy Lockwood with just over five minutes remaining lifted sixth-seeded White Bear Lake to a 27-21 victory over third-seeded Cretin-Derham Hall on Friday. Whalen rushed for three TDs in the first half to help the Bears take a 21-7 lead at halftime. The Raiders tied the score in the third quarter on two rushing TDs from Maxwell Jackson. The Bears sealed their first victory over the Raiders since 2005 with an interception with 1:53 remaining. ... Seth Green threw two TD passes and ran for a TD to help East Ridge pull away for a 36-7 victory over Woodbury. East Ridge outscored the Royals 27-7 in the second half. … Zach Knox rushed for 106 yards and four TDs to lead Stillwater to a 53-20 victory over Roseville.

• CLASS 6A, SECTION 3: Jackson Erdmann threw for 179 yards and three TDs and Lowell Green rushed for two TDs to lead top-seeded Rosemount past Farmington 56-15. ... Drew Stewart passed for 210 yards and a TD and ran for two TDs to lead second-seeded Lakeville North past seventh-seeded Park of Cottage Grove 35-7. ... Kamal Martin threw four TD passes and ran for a TD to help Burnsville outlast Eastview, 46-43.

• CLASS 6A, SECTION 5: Top-seeded Maple Grove recorded its fourth shutout in the past five games with a 35-0 victory over Coon Rapids. ... Osseo outlasted Champlin Park 27-21. Champlin Park scored with 6:48 remaining to pull within six, but the Rebels didn’t get the ball back as the Orioles ran out the clock with the help of a fourth-and-7 conversion. Prince Kruah scored two touchdowns to lead the Orioles. ... Kez Flomo rushed for 205 yards and three TDs to fuel Totino-Grace’s 35-14 victory over Anoka.

• CLASS 6A, SECTION 6: Will Rains rushed for four TDs to lead three-time defending state champion Eden Prairie to a 53-0 victory over Shakopee. Rains scored three TDs in the first half as the Eagles built a 33-0 halftime lead en route to their 26th consecutive victory.

NOTES

• Ada-Borup volleyball coach Ruth Hayden became just the fifth volleyball coach in state history to reach 700 career victories when the Cougars defeated Mahnomen in the second round of the Class 1A, Section 6 tournament Friday.
