Three More Elite League Players Commit To D-1 Programs

Breck Senior Mike Morin verbally committed to Colorado College

New Hope, Minn. – Three players from the 2009 Upper Midwest High School Elite League recently made commitments to Division I hockey programs.

Michael Morin (Colorado College), Chris Casto (University of Minnesota-Duluth) and Jason Clark (Wisconsin) each selected colleges after competing in this past fall’s Elite League.

Morin is a 5-10, 175-pound forward, currently playing high school hockey for Breck. He scored 14 goals and added eight assists in 24 Elite League games last fall. He was selected to play for the Minnesota White team that took third place in the Bauer National Invitational Tournament.

Casto is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound defenseman currently playing for Hill-Murray high school. He had eight goals and 15 points in the Elite League’s regular season, then was part of the Minnesota Red team that won the Bauer NIT.

Clark competed for Shattuck-St. Mary’s in the Elite League, The Eden Prairie native is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound forward who had eight goals and eight assists in 15 Elite League games, then added a goal and an assist to help Shattuck take second place in the NIT. Clark was recently ranked #73 among North American skaters on the mid-term list from the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Service.

With these signings, more than 20 players from the 2009 Elite League and NIT have now made commitments to Division I hockey programs.
