A quick look at players who you will likely hear more about this season.

Matthew Anderson, jr., D, Holy Family

Power-play ace takes on captain role this winter.

Casey Dornbach, F, Edina

Accountable in all three zones. Committed to Nebraska-Omaha.

Chase Ellingson, F, Breck

Explosive skater with ability to finish. Tallied 25 goals last season.

Alex Gregor, F, New Prague

Pure finisher pumped 34 goals into Trojans’ offense.

Thomas Hanson, G, Minnetonka

Steps into Skippers’ full-time starting role. Smart goalie who challenges shooters.

Billy Jerry, F, St. Thomas Academy

Blistering shot produced 21 goals as a junior.

Tyler Jette, D, Farmington

Steady, mobile defenseman with good size (6-3, 190 pounds).

Jake Johnson, D, Bloomington Jefferson

Took a step forward as a junior last season. Good mix of size and skill.

Max Johnson, F, Lakeville North

Competes hard and does the little things well. Committed to Bowling Green.

Connor Mayer, jr., D, Benilde-St. Margaret’s

Offensive-minded defenseman becomes a force when carrying the puck.

Ben Meyers, jr., F, Delano

Led Tigers in points the past two seasons. Tallied 20 goals and 33 assists last season.

Jax Murray, jr., F, Elk River

Fans stand to watch when Murray gets the puck. Scored 17 goals as a sophomore.

Wyatt Newpower, D, White Bear Lake

Entering his fourth season on the Bears’ blue line. Makes plays at both ends of the ice.

Luke Notermann, F, Blaine

Gritty and skilled. Led the Fall Elite League with 18 goals.

Clayton Phillips, soph., D, Edina

Converted forward should add even more to Hornets’ offense this winter. Committed to Minnesota.

Ryan Poehling, jr., F, Lakeville North

Center with great vision. Expected to take bigger role for defending state champs.

Trey Rooney, F, Armstrong/Cooper

Led the Wings with 21 goals last season.

Alex Schilling G, Wayzata

Started 21 games last season. Takes away the net with a quick glove hand.

Mark Senden, F, Wayzata

Coachable, physical player. Committed to North Dakota.

Sam Walker, soph., F, Edina

Future Gopher has great wheels and will develop as a playmaker.
