Red Knights, Pioneers skate to scoreless tie in JV action

Melin perfect but unable to get win at Hill-Murray.

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. -- Peyton Melin recorded his first shutout of the season but Vincent Illgen matched his effort and the Benidle-St. Margaret's junior varsity skated to a 0-0 tie with Hill-Murray.

The Red Knights held a 27-18 advantage in shots on goal as both teams went 0-for-4 on the power play.

BSM also had a 27-15 advantage in faceoff wins with Dylan Hoen winning 14 of 21 draws.

Next up for the Red Knights is their home-opener, Tuesday, when tey face Woodbury at the St. Louis Park Rec Center. Game time is 5 p.m.
