The season's third week is upon us, and things are starting to take shape. Some teams are surprising in a positive way, while others have found their share of disappointment.
There are a few traditional rivalry games on the agenda with Blaine heading to Circle Pines to face Centennial, Hill-Murray hosting White Bear Lake, and in St. Cloud, Apollo and Cathedral meet for the first time this season.
But perhaps no game will receive more attention than the one scheduled for Friday night at the St. Louis Park Rec Center, when two of the state’s top teams meet for the first time since “the fight.”
When Eden Prairie, ranked No. 1 in the Class 2A coaches' poll, takes the ice against No. 3-2A Benilde-St. Margaret’s, the matchup will surely gain plenty of interest. But more importantly, it will feature a tremendous amount of skill and talent from players on teams that have already found their midseason form.
