Tuesday's Boys' Hockey roundup: A lengthy losing streak ends for Holy Angels

Stars' 4-1 victory over Totino-Grace is their first since Dec. 8

HOLY ANGELS 4, TOTINO-GRACE 1: It was a long time coming -- more than a month, in fact -- but Holy Angels finally tasted victory again. The Stars snapped a 10-game losing streak by upsetting the Eagles. Their last win came on Dec. 8. Spencer Sande scored three goals and added an assist for the Stars. Sean Daley stopped 39 shots for the Stars.

EDEN PRAIRIE 2, ST. THOMAS ACADEMY 2 (OT): Atticus Kelly stopped 35 shots, including six in overtime, to help the Cadets escape with a tie against the Eagles. Chase Foley scored on the power play for the Cadets just past the midway mark of the third period to tie the score. Brendan McFadden got the scoring started for the Cadets. Casey Mittelstadt and Jarod Blackowiak scored for the Eagles. The Eagles outshot the Cadets 15-4 in the third period and overtime. Shawn Durocher stopped 21 shots for the Eagles.

BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S 2, FARMINGTON 1 (OT): Perhaps a bit rusty after a 10-day layoff, the No.1, 2A Red Knights found a way to remain undefeated (16-0-1) when Cade Gleekel scored with 23.2 seconds remaining in overtime. Peter Heimbold sent the game to overtime when he scored for Benilde-St. Margaret's with 3:22 left in the third period. Ryan Bischel stopped 22 shots for the Knights. Andy Meyer scored a goal and Gavin Enright stopped 30 shots for the Tigers.

ARMSTRONG/COOPER 4, ST. FRANCIS 3 (OT): Erik Evans scored 6 minutes, 59 seconds into overtime to lift the Wings past the Fighting Saints. Mitchell Verbeten scored with 50 seconds remaining in the third period for the Wings. Nicholas Gonrowski scored two goals for the Wings. Alex Besch scored three goals to lead the Saints.

PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 4, TARTAN 3: Bryce Solberg and Nick Lucas had a goal and two assists each to lead the Wolfpack over the Titans. Gavin Foote and Jack Valento also scored for the Wolfpack. Luke Maul stopped 22 shots for the Wolfpack. Andy Henderson, Nate Reddy and C.J. Acker scored for the Titans. Julius Huset stopped 21 shots for the Titans.

CENTENNIAL 2, WHITE BEAR LAKE 1: Nathan Fellows stopped 17 shots to lift the Cougars past the Bears. Dylan Klehr and Tyler Nyman scored for the Cougars. Brett Meister scored for the Bears. Bob Parenteau stopped 16 shots for the Bears.

MOUNDS VIEW 2, IRONDALE 0: Joe Marcouiller stopped 36 shots to lead the Mustangs past the Knights. Wyatt Thole and Tom Nagle scored for the Mustangs. David Mulligan stopped 31 shots for the Knights.

SPRING LAKE PARK 5, ANDOVER 2: Connor Gagnon had two goals and two assists to lift the Panthers past the Huskies. Zach Benson had two goals and Luke Turnquist had one for the Panthers. Aaron Furlano stopped 26 shots for the Panthers.  Zach Sitarz led the Huskies with a goal and an assist. Brent Sears also scored for the Huskies. Jacob Ricke stopped 36 shots for the Huskies.

BRECK 5, CHANHASSEN 2: Will Blake had a natural hat trick in the third period to lift the Mustangs past the Storm. Tyler Scott had a goal and four assists for the Mustangs. Dalton Weigel had a goal and an assist for the Mustangs. Linden Olness stopped 22 shots for the Mustangs. Colin Moser had a goal and an assist for the Storm. Jack Pries also scored for the Storm. Taylor Thompson stopped 45 shots for the Storm.

ST. LOUIS PARK 4, WACONIA 2: Bauer Neudecker had two goals and two assists to lead the Orioles past the Wildcats. Riley Dvorak and Willy Basill also scored for the Orioles. Atticus Raasch stopped 29 shots for the Orioles. Trevor Rowe stopped 50 shots to lead the Wildcats. Max Stangret and Shane Reuben scored for the Wildcats.

PRINCETON 4, NORTH ST. PAUL 1: Tyler McAlpine scored a natural hat trick to lead the Tigers past the Polars. Derek Abrahamson also scored for the Tigers. Gabe Pangerl stopped 29 shots for the Tigers. Michael Ettinger scored with 29 seconds remaining for the Polars. Malachy Zamacona stopped 35 shots for the Polars.

BLAKE 8, PROVIDENCE ACADEMY 3: Johnny Ferguson led the Bears past the Lions with two goals and three assists. Bennett Hawley and Tyler Kossila had three points each for the Bears. Jackson Saunders, Max Bicanich and Eric Elftmann scored for the Bears. Daniel Haataja, Ben Sellman and Cole Smith scored for the Lions. Sam Ferreira stopped 32 shots for the Lions.

ST. PAUL ACADEMY 7, MINNEHAHA ACADEMY 1: Matt Dahlseide had two goals and an assist to the lead the Class 1A, No. 7 Spartans past the Redhawks. Charlie Ward, Cullen McCabe, Riley Bowman, Sam Petronino and Jack Johnston also scored for the Spartans. Andy Beran stopped 15 shots for the Spartans. Cole Knutson scored for the Redhawks. Justin Evenson stopped 42 shots for the Redhawks.

DELANO 8, MOUND-WESTONKA 0: The Class 1A, No. 6 Tigers broke the game open with five goals in the third period against the White Hawks. Brian Halonen led the Tigers with two goals. Kyle Ylitalo, Matt Carson and Gabe Halonen had a goal and an assist each for the Tigers. Nick Schreyer, Justin Daly and Ben Kivisto scored for the Tigers. Erik Peterson stopped 16 shots for the Tigers. Jack Reinhardt stopped 41 shots for the White Hawks.
