Eden Prairie humbles upset-minded Grand Rapids

Edina tournament

EDEN PRAIRIE 9, GRAND RAPIDS 5: A second consecutive upset was not to be for Grand Rapids as No. 2, Class 2A Eden Prairie flexed it’s offensive muscle, peppering the Grand Rapids goal with 42 shots in the victory. Kyle Rau and David Rath had two goals and two assists each for Eden Prairie. Patrick Moore and Christian Pearson scored twice each for Grand Rapids, which had defeated host Edina 2-1 on Thursday.

EDINA 4, ELK RIVER 1: Edina got off to a fast start against Elk River, scoring twice in the game’s first five minutes en route to a win over the visiting Elks. It was a nice bounce back win for the No. 3  Class 2A Hornets, who had four different skaters tally a goal. Elk River’s Nash Bleyhl scored the only goal for the Elks.
