BSM falls 4-1 to St. Michael-Albertville.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. --  Benilde-St. Margaret's dominated the game's first 17 minutes but St. Michael-Albertville took over in the second period and held off the 17th-ranked Red Knights to claim a 4-1 win.

BSM outshot its guest, 15-6, in the opening period and, despite not being able to find the back of the net, appeared as if they would dominate the game.

The Knights turned the tables in the second period, holding a 16-7 advantage on the shot chart but, more importantly scoring twice to take a 2-0 lead into the second intermission.

The Red Knights finally got on the scoreboard, cutting the lead in half while skating with an extra attacker, when Peter Moran took the puck from behind the and came out to the right side of the goal. He attempted to put the puck out front but it bounced past StMA goalie Kyle Haden and into the net with three minutes to play in the game.

Just 25 seconds later, the hosts went on the power-play and, with goalie Zach Everett pulled for an extra attacker once again, looked like they were ready to tie the score.

It was the Knights who scored, however, as Cole Lehmann scored when he cleared the puck some 150 feet down the ice and into the empty BSM goal.

Still on the power play, the Red Knights pulled Everett once again and, after Hayden directed a Nick Sims shot into the left corner with his blocker, Jack Kelly moved the puck up to Ryan Copeland, who into the empty net, his second goal of the game, to seal the win.

Both teams finished with 31 shots on goal. Hayden turned in a 30-save effort in the win while Everett stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced.

BSM will host Duluth Marshall at 7 p.m., Friday, before hosting third-ranked Grand Rapids in a 2:30 p.m. matinee, Saturday.

Co-captain Peter Moran scored BSM's lone goal.
