Player of the Week candidates for Dec. 26-31

Mike Magnuson, Cretin-Derham Hall. Magnuson stopped 33 shots in a shutout over Mahtomedi and was nearly perfect in a win over Anoka, allowing just one goal on 26 shots. Magnuson recorded a .983 save percentage on the week.

Isaac Moberg, St. Paul Johnson. Moberg scored six goals in the Governors’ three games last week – four against Hopkins, one at Eagan, and two against Woodbury.

Eric Elftmann, Blake. The senior forward put up six points in his team’s three wins. Elftmann had one assist against Holy Angels, two goals against Chanhassen and one goal and two assists against Minneapolis.

Jake Lundquist, Minnehaha Academy. Lundquist contributed five goals and two assists in three games. The senior is tied for eighth in state in goals and tied for fourth in points.

Jack Perbix, Elk River. Perbix scored a hat trick in No. 2-2A Elk River’s victory over Benilde-St. Margaret’s and added another goal in a win over No. 9-2A Lakeville North.

Nick Stearns, East Ridge. Stearns backed East Ridge to a 2-0 win over Orono, stopping all 36 shots he faced.

Bobby Brink, Minnetonka. Brink tallied four assists in two games – two against Wayzata and two against No. 10-2A Hill Murray.

Bauer Neudecker, St. Louis Park. Neudecker tallied five points – two goals and three assists – in his team’s win over Apple Valley. The senior forward ranks second in state in scoring.

Matthew Gellerman, South St. Paul. Gellerman contributed five points – three goals and two assists – in a win over Hastings. The junior leads his team in goals, assists and points.

Keegan Bauman, Champlin Park. Bauman scored a hat trick to lead Champlin Park over Eastview and added two more goals in a win over Red Wing.
