A 3-0 deficit was too much to overcome for the Faribault High School boys hockey team Tuesday as the Falcons fell 5-3 to Rochester John Marshall.

FHS (4-9-1, 2-2 Big 9 Conference) ran into a hot goaltender in JM’s Bryan King, who stopped 33 of Faribault’s 36 shots to earn the win for the Rockets (6-6, 3-2).

“We had a ton of great chances,” assistant coach Dan Pumper said. “He just came up big on them.”

The Rockets scored twice on the power play, including a 5-on-3 advantage. Faribault got on the board on Brandon Teske’s goal at the 13:29 mark of the second period. Sean Lipinski and Riley Jandro also scored for FHS.

Cody Morsching got the start in net for the Falcons, stopping 18 of JM’s 23 shots. FHS travels to take on New Ulm on Friday.
