Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl 4, St. Paul Johnson 3, OT. Jake Seitz scored 4:49 into overtime to complete a hat trick and send Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl over St. Paul Johnson. Seitz scored late in the second period to bring the game within one point, then registered the game-tying goal to send the game into the extra frame. Taylor Greenwalt stopped 39 shots for the win. Ezra Weintzweig made 36 saves for St. Paul Johnson.

Hermantown 3, Bemidji 2 (OT). Jesse Jaques’ goal 30 seconds into overtime clinched Class 1A, top-ranked Hermantown its 20th consecutive win this season. Tyler Watkins notched three points; his final was the game-winning assist. Cade McEwen stopped 27 of 29 shots for the Hawks, while Matt Fitzgerald turned aside 26 of 29.

Eastview 2, Burnsville 1. Eastview’s two goals less than three minutes apart were enough to take the win over Burnsville. Zach Anderson and Jesse Fan were the goal scorers for the Lightning. Goaltender Zach Herro had a shutout going until just six seconds left in the game when Burnsville’s Daniel Sandvig scored a power play goal. Herro ended with 28 saves, while Josh Kenney of Burnsville stopped 33 shots.

Chisago Lakes 5, Princeton 3. Andrue Trelstad and Adam Hanson each scored two goals to lead Chisago Lakes past Princeton. Jesse Carlson made 29 saves for the Wildcats. Princeton’s Hunter Orrock recorded a hat trick, scoring all of his goals on the power play. Ryce Thiel stopped 39 shots for the Tigers.

St. Cloud 5, Rogers 2. Noah Bissett and Nick Portz combined for five goals to lead St. Cloud. Bissett recorded a hat trick, scoring midway through the second period and twice in the third. Portz scored both of his goals - one of them shorthanded - in the first period in 1 minute, 53 seconds. Soren Falloon backed St. Cloud in the win with 18 saves, while Jonathan Pruesse of Rogers made 29.

Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake 5, St. Francis 2. Ben Ward recorded four points, including two goals in the second period and two assists in the third, to lead Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake’s offense. Troy Dahlheimer tallied three assists in the win, including one on the eventual game-winner with 12 seconds left in the second period. Tyler Klatt stopped 16 shots for Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake, while Nolan Garaghty of St. Francis made 37 saves.

St. Thomas Academy 5, Hill-Murray 1. Brendan McFadden scored a pair of goals and added an assist to help the Class 2A, No. 8 Cadets deal No. 9-2A Hill-Murray its first Metro East loss of the season and extend a seven-game winning streak. Ray Christie assisted both of McFadden’s goals. Atticus Kelly stopped 25 of 26 shots for St. Thomas Academy, while Jake Begley made 34 saves. Emmet Nath scored the Pioneers’ lone goal.

Chaska 5, Chanhassen 1. Blaine Warnert tallied three points and goaltender Justin Bach made 35 saves to lead Chaska past Chanhassen. Warnert scored the game’s first goal midway through the first period and added an assist later in the period, then finished his scoring on a power play goal midway through the second. Chanhassen’s Zach Swisher made 18 saves.

Stillwater 8, Woodbury 2. Noah Cates’ five-point night capped a 14-point week with the Class 2A, No. 5 Ponies in their past three games. T.J. Saggisor had a hat trick and Jack Mapstone notched three assists for Stillwater. Jim Heron and Ronnie Sweeny netted goals for the Royals. The Ponies Seth Eisele stopped 21 of 23 shots.
