Player of the Week candidates for Feb. 13-18

This week's winner

Seth Eisele, Stillwater. The senior goaltender stopped 55 of 56 shots in a 3-1 win over Holy Family Catholic, posting a .982 save percentage.

The other candidates

Joe Buckingham, Cretin-Derham Hall. The junior forward scored two goals, including the game-winner with 1:44 left in the third period, and added two assists in a 6-5 win over Holy Angels.

Jack Giddings, Anoka. Giddings scored three goals in a 6-5 overtime win against Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper. The senior forward scored Anoka’s fourth unanswered goal in the second period on a power play and an even-strength goal to tie the game with 35 seconds left in the third. He netted the game-winner 4:41 into overtime.

Nick Hackman, Rochester John Marshall.  Hackman scored every goal for Rochester John Marshall in a 5-3 win over Austin. The junior forward scored one on the power play and one shorthanded, with the other three coming while the Rockets were at even strength. He completed his hat trick 6:24 into the second period.

Carson Kosobud, Moorhead. Kosobud scored two goals to lead Moorhead over Hill-Murray 4-3. The senior defenseman tallied the game-tying goal with just over five minutes left in the third period, then scored the game-winner 3 minutes, 53 seconds into the extra frame.

Garrett Mackay, Edina. The junior goaltender stopped all 24 shots he faced in a 1-0 win over Wayzata.

Benny Meyers, Elk River. The senior goaltender made 24 saves in a 2-1 win over Maple Grove, posting a .960 save percentage.

John Paul Neumann, Rochester John Marshall. In a 2-1 overtime win against Albert Lea, the senior goaltender stopped 34 shots for a .971 save percentage.

Nick Salzle, Mankato East. The senior forward scored twice in a 4-3 win over Rochester Mayo, including the game-tying and game-winning goals in the third period.

Charlie Schoen, Andover. Schoen scored two goals and added two assists in a 4-3 win over Coon Rapids. The sophomore forward netted the game-winner 6 minutes, 31 seconds into overtime.
