Skippers rout Trojans in Lake Conference play, Crimson hold off Greyhounds

MINNETONKA 6, WAYZATA 0: The Skippers might have taken offense to being ranked behind the Trojans. Erik Baskin had two goals and one assist, leading Class 2A, No. 7 Minnetonka past No. 3 Wayzata in the Lake. Baskin and Phil Katopodis broke a scoreless game with goals 25 seconds apart in the second period. The Skippers added four goals in  the third period, the last three 2 minutes, 14 seconds apart. Alex Glockner stopped all 29 shots he faced to register the shutout.

MAPLE GROVE 3, DULUTH EAST 1: Dylan Steman started and put the finishing touches on the Class 2A, No. 4 Greyhounds, scoring twice in the nonconference victory by the No. 9 Crimson. Steman opened the scoring in the first period, and added an insurance goal with 1:29 left to play. Ryan Coyne turned aside 27 shots in goal for the Crimson.

NORTH ST. PAUL 5, SOUTH ST. PAUL 1: After a scoreless first period, the Polars erupted for three second-period goals in the Classic Suburban contest. Freshman forward Tyler Oliver scored twice and added an assist for the Polars, who defeated South 2-1 in mid-December.
