Alex Harvey racked up four goals and Justin Kloos had six points (two goals, four assists) as Lakeville South's top line led the top-seeded Cougars (15-8-2) to a big victory over No. 8 Winona (6-18-1) in the Section 1AA quarterfinals at Hasse Arena in Lakeville. Alex Lubahn had the only Winona goal.

Lakeville North 7, Owatonna 1 -- FINAL
Sometimes, the shot chart doesn't matter. Second-seeded Lakeville North was outshot heavily by No. 7 Owatonna, 38-22, but still won in running time in the Section 1AA quarterfinal game at Ames Arena in Lakeville. Junior goalie Charlie Lingren was again strong for the Panthers (11-14-1), making 37 saves. Ben Counters and Charlie Hayes each scored twice for North, while Zach Olson had the lone goal for the Huskies (7-19-0).

Rochester Century 4, Rochester Mayo 2 -- FINAL
In an upset special, No. 6 Rochester Century (11-15-0) beat crosstown rival and No. 3 seed Rochester Mayo (12-12-2) in the Section 1AA quarterfinals at Graham Arena in Rochester.

Farmington 6, Rochester John Marshall 1 -- FINAL
Fifth-seeded Farmington (14-12-0) clipped No. 4 Rochester John Marshall (15-11-0) in the Section 1AA quarterfinals at the Rochester Recreation Center.

Edina 8, Bloomington Kennedy 1 -- FINAL
Top-seeded Edina (16-7-2) began its defense of a Class AA title with a big victory over No. 8 Bloomington Kennedy (2-24-0) in the Section 2AA quarterfinals at Braemer Arena. Michael Sit had two goals and two assists as the Hornets outshot Kennedy 64-8.

Burnsville 8, Shakopee 1 -- FINAL
After a scoreless first period, second-seeded Burnsville turned on the jets and soared past No. 7 Shakopee in the Section 2AA quarterfinals at the Burnsville Ice Center. Mike Dockry started the outburst just 31 seconds in the second period, while Cory Chapman and Sean Madigan each had two goals for the Blaze (18-4-4). Burnsville outshot the Sabers (7-18-1) by a wide 56-17 margin. Richard Suel made 48 saves for Shakopee.

Bloomington Jefferson 8, Chanhassen 0 -- FINAL
Eight different player scored for No. 3 Bloomington Jefferson in a big victory over No. 6 Chanhassen in the Section 2AA quarterfinal at the Bloomington Ice Garden. The Jaguars (15-8-3) ripped 52 shots at goaltender Harlin Paradise of the Storm (11-14-1), who made 44 saves. Brady Dornfeld had a goal and two assists for Jefferson.

Prior Lake 4, Holy Angels 3 -- FINAL
Fifth-seeded Prior Lake (9-13-4) has been surging late this winter and proved to be a tough draw for No. 4 Holy Angels (16-9-1), beating the Stars in the Section 2AA quarterfinals on their home ice at the Richfield Ice Arena.

Eagan 5, Park of Cottage Grove 0 -- FINAL
Will Merchant recorded two goals and an assist for No. 1 Eagan in a shutout victory over No. 8 Park of Cottage Grove in the Section 3AA quarterfinals at the Eagan Civic Center. The Wildcats (18-6-2) outshot the Wolf Pack (6-19-2) 58-7, including 23-1 in the second period in which they scored four of their goals. Tommy Bodeker earned the seven-save shutout.

Apple Valley 4, Eastview 1 -- FINAL
Kris Goodman would like to remind everyone that he's a very good hockey player, too. Apple Valley's oft-overlooked senior netted a hat trick as the second-seeded Eagles (19-6-1) turned a 1-1 third-period deadlock into a victory over scrappy No. 7 Eastview in the Section 3AA quarterfinals at the Apple Valley Sports Arena.  The two teams were tied at 1-all through 34 minutes, as Scott Nelson of the Lightning (8-17-2) and Goodman traded goals.

Cretin-Derham Hall 4, East Ridge 1 -- FINAL
In a tight-checking game, Bob Kinne took matters into his own hands. The senior forward tallied a hat trick for No. 3 Cretin-Derham Hall in a Section 3AA quarterfinal victory over No. 6 East Ridge at Highland Arena in St. Paul. There were just 26 total shots in the game, 17 for the Raiders (14-8-4) and nine for the Raptors (10-16-0), who got their goal from Kevin Walz, son of former Wild star Wes Walz.

Hastings 3, Woodbury 2 -- FINAL
In a game befitting of its seeding, No. 4 Hastings built up a two-goal lead and held off a late rally to defeat No. 5 Woodbury in the Section 3AA quarterfinals at the Hastings Civic Arena. Austin Nelson had a goal and an assist for the Raiders (13-12-1). Christian Turner scored with 1:29 remaining to get the Royals (13-13-0) within a goal, but they could not net the tying goal.

Maple Grove 10, North Metro 0 -- FINAL
Tyler Dunagan had a hat trick and Spencer Bell and Joe Franta each picked up two goals as No. 1 Maple Grove cruised past No. 8 North Metro in the Section 5AA quarterfinals at Champlin Park. The Crimson (21-3-2) outshot the Stars (5-22-0) 55-12. Ryan Coyne and Kyle Koop combined for the shutout, while Adam Mickelson made 45 saves for North Metro.

Blaine 4, Coon Rapids 1 -- FINAL
Tyler Cline had a goal and two assists to pace No. 2 Blaine to a victory over No. 7 Coon Rapids in the Section 5AA quarterfinals at Champlin Park. Patrick Drazkowski kept the Cardinals (7-19-0) in the game, making 39 saves on 43 shots. Nick Malvin had 13 saves for the Bengals (18-4-4).

Eden Prairie 8, Minneapolis 1 -- FINAL
Top-seeded Eden Prairie (19-5-2) claimed a Section 6AA quarterfinal victory over No. 8 Minneapolis (19-3-4) at the Eden Prairie Community Center.

Wayzata 13, Robbinsdale Cooper 0 -- FINAL
Junior sniper Mario Lucia racked up a hat trick as No. 1 Wayzata surged past No. 8 Robbinsdale Cooper in the Section 6AA quarterfinals at the Plymouth Ice Center. D.J. Jones, Paul Voelker and Tanner Jensen added two goals for the Trojans (19-5-2), who allowed just five shots by the Hawks (14-12-0). Aaron Dingmann stopped them all for the shutout victory.

Benilde-St. Margaret's 7, Robbinsdale Armstrong 0 -- FINAL
Grant Besse exploded for four goals as No. 3 Benilde-St. Margaret's grabbed an early lead and raced past No. 6 Robbinsdale Armstrong in the Section 6AA quarterfinals at the St. Louis Park Rec Center. Patrick Daly and Jake Horton had three assists each from the blue line for the Red Knights (22-4-0). Anders Jecha had nine saves, while Michael Greenberg had 33 saves for the Falcons (12-13-1).

Minnetonka 5, Hopkins 1 -- FINAL
So much for missing all those Division 1 defensemen. Fourth-seeded Minnetonka held No. 5 Hopkins to a single goal in a Section 6AA quarterfinal victory at the Pagel Activity Center. Sophomores Vinni Lettieri (two goals, one assist) and Max Coatta (one goal, two assists) paced the Skippers (17-7-2). Jalen Wahl scored for the Royals (11-15-0).

Rochester Lourdes 11, LeSueur-Henderson/St. Peter 0 -- FINAL
It was a big offensive night for top-seeded Rochester Lourdes (22-3-1), which shut down No. 9 LeSueur-Henderson/St. Peter (11-13-2) in the Section 1A quarterfinals at Graham Arena in Rochester.

Albert Lea 6, Faribault 4 -- FINAL
Roy Nystrom just knows how to win. Minnesota's all-time winningest coach led his second-seeded Tigers (19-6-1) to a victory over No. 7 Faribault (11-15-1) in the Section 1A quarterfinals at Albert Lea City Arena.

New Prague 4, Northfield 0 -- FINAL
Joe Morris made 23 saves as third-seeded New Prague (13-11-2) shut out No. 6 Northfield (10-16-0) in the Section 1A quarterfinals at the New Prague Community Center. Cody Meyer had two goals and Cole Mason netted a goal and three assists for the Trojans.

Red Wing 6, Mankato West 3 -- FINAL
Watch out for Red Wing during playoff hockey. The fifth-seeded Wingers (10-17-0) upset No. 4 Mankato West (15-8-3) in the Section 1A quarterfinals at All Seasons Arena in Mankato. The victory followed up a first round win over Mankato East.

Delano 3, Holy Family 1 -- FINAL
Sixth-seeded Holy Family held state scoring leader Tyler Heinonen to a single assist, but No. 3 Delano still claimed victory in the Section 2A quarterfinal at the Parade Ice Garden in Minneapolis. Jered Berg, Lucas Anderson and Dillon McLain had goals for the Tigers (18-7-1), who were outshot by the Fire (14-11-1). Ryan Pinoniemi came up big in nets with 31 saves on 32 shots.

Orono 9, Providence Academy 3 -- FINAL
Ross Luedtke's hat trick propelled No. 4 Orono (16-9-1) to a high-scoring victory over No. 5 Providence Academy (18-7-1) in the Section 2A quarterfinals at Parade Ice Garden in Minneapolis.

New Ulm 11, Fairmont 0 -- FINAL
Four different players scored two goals each as No. 1 New Ulm shut out No. 8 Fairmont in the Section 3A quarterfinal in New Ulm. Kaleb Juntunen, Aaron Pfaff, Dylan Schreckenberg and Blake Neumann all tallied twice for the Eagles (19-4-2). Blake Burgau stopped all 12 shots he faced for the shutout over the Cardinals (5-17-0), who saw 44 New Ulm shots.

Hutchinson 7, Sleepy Eye Area 0 -- FINAL
Second-seeded Hutchinson (10-14-1) shut out No. 7 Sleepy Eye Area (12-15-0) in the Section 3A quarterfinals at Burich Arena in Hutchinson.

Litchfield/D-C 8, Redwood Valley 0 -- FINAL
Quinn Impola powered No. 3 Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato (15-10-1) with a hat trick in a shut out victory over No. 6 Redwood Valley (10-14-2) in the Section 3A quarterfinals at the Litchfield Civic Arena.

Marshall 5, Luverne 1 -- FINAL
Tight defense and two goals from Brady Mellenthin gave No. 4 Marshall a victory over No. 5 Luverne (17-8-0) in the Section 3A quarterfinals at Lyon County Ice Arena in Marshall. The Tigers (16-5-3) allowed just 14 shots on netminder Andrew Noble, who stopped 13.

St. Thomas Academy 9, Simley 0 -- FINAL
David Zevnick pitched a 12-save shutout as No. 1 St. Thomas Academy cruised past No. 9 Simley in the Section 4A quarterfinals at Aldrich Arena in Maplewood. A.J. Reid led the scoring parade with two goals and two assists for the Cadets (20-6-0). Teammates Taylor Fleming and Andrew Commers added two goals and an assist each. Luke Beaudoin made 40 saves for the Spartans (11-14-2).

Mahtomedi 2, Chisago Lakes 1 OT -- FINAL
Fourth-seeded Mahtomedi escaped with an overtime victory over No. 5 Chisago Lakes in the Section 4A quarterfinals at Aldrich Arena in Maplewood.

Hermantown 5, Sauk Rapids-Rice 2 -- FINAL
Bo Gronseth scored twice as No. 1 Hermantown rallied past No. 9 Sauk Rapids-Rice in the Section 5A quarterfinals in Hermantown. The Storm (8-19-0) had led 1-0 on Mitch Gwost's goal, but late in the first to tie it, then notched the game winner 4:37 into the second. Jared Thomas added a goal and two assists for the Hawks (21-3-2).

Rogers 10, Moose Lake Area 1 -- FINAL
Neal Smith, Chad Miller and Andrew Smith each tallied two goals as No. 2 Rogers rolled past No. 7 Moose Lake Area in the Section 5A quarterfinals at the Rogers Ice Arena. Keaton Mumm made 15 saves on 16 shots for the Royals (17-8-1), while Zach Cisar scored the lone goal for the Rebels (18-8-1).

Proctor 6, Princeton 5 OT -- FINAL
Third-seeded Proctor overcame the upset bid by No. 6 Princeton, earning an overtime victory in the Section 5A quarterfinals at the Proctor Arena. The Rails (17-7-2) had led 5-1 before the Tigers (8-16-2) rallied to send the game to overtime.

St. Cloud Cathedral 16, St. Michael-Albertville 1 -- FINAL
Ryan Kissner, Will Hammer and T.J. Bruce all had hat tricks as No. 4 St. Cloud Cathedral surprised No. 5 St. Michael-Albertville in the Section 5A quarterfinals at the MAC in St. Cloud. Danny Johnston added two goals and three assists for the Crusaders (16-9-1), who tallied nine first-period goals en route to a 72-shot outburst. Jake Larson scored in the third to end the shutout for the Knights (12-11-4).

Virginia/MI-B 7, Greenway 2 -- FINAL
Travis Eddy ripped in four goals as top-seeded Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl (19-7-0) outscored No. 8 Greenway (10-15-0) in the Section 7A quarterfinals at Miners Memorial Building in Virginia.

Hibbing/Chisholm 9, Silver Bay 0 - FINAL
Second-seeded Hibbing/Chisholm proved to be too much for No. 7 Silver Bay (10-15-1), as the Bluejackets (15-9-2) rolled in the Section 7A quarterfinals at the Hibbing Memorial Arena.

Duluth Central 9, Eveleth-Gilbert 1 -- FINAL
Levi Talarico, Tyler Kaspari and Colin Magnuson combined for 18 points (six from each) as No. 3 Duluth Central rolled past No. 6 Eveleth-Gilbert in the Section 7A quarterfinals at the Heritage Center in Duluth. Kaspari had a hat trick and three assists, while Talarico and Magnuson recorded two goals and four assists each for the Trojans (13-13-0). Cole Axelson picked up the lone goal for the Golden Bears (13-13-0).

Duluth Marshall 3, International Falls 2 -- FINAL
Mac Dow scored with just 1:04 remaining to give No. 4 Duluth Marshall a thrilling victory over No. 5 International Falls in the Section 7A quarterfinals at Mars Lakeview Arena in Duluth. The Hilltoppers (15-10-1) ripped 44 shots on net, but Glenn Walls made 41 saves for the Broncos (10-15-1). Michael Bounds and Michael Misner had goals for I Falls, while Judd Peterson had a goal and an assist for Marshall.

Warroad 15, Kittson Central 0 -- FINAL
Nick Stoskopf and Tommy Alstrup each recorded a hat trick as No. 1 Warroad rolled past No. 8 Kittson Central in the Section 8A quarterfinals in Thief River Falls. Stoskopf and Alstrup also had two assists each for five-point nights. Kyle Sylvester chipped in with two goals and two assists for the Warriors (18-8-0), who outshot the Bearcats (6-21-0) by a 47-10 margin. Jackson Klein had 32 saves, while Andy Foster and Chris Larson combined for a 10-save shutout.

East Grand Forks 3, Crookston 1 -- FINAL
Gage Ausmus scored in his return from injury to lead No. 5 East Grand Forks past fourth-seeded Crookston (11-12-3) in the Section 8A quarterfinals in Thief River Falls. After a scoreless first period, the two teams combined to score three goals in a span of 1:41 early in the second. Josh Mosher got the Green Wave (10-14-1) on the board, but Crookston's Mark Bittner tied it just 34 seconds later before Ausmus regained the lead. East Grand Forks outshot Crookston 40-15.
