Olson registers first shutout in win over St. Louis Park.

ST. LOUIS PARK -- Jonah Mortenson scored the game's only three goals and Jack Olson stopped 13 shots as Benilde-St. Margaret's defeated St. Louis Park, 3-0, in junior varsity action.

The teams skated through a scoreless first period but Mortenson then scored just 46 seconds into the middle period and, less than five minutes later, made it a 2-0 game with his second goal.

The score would remain that way, despite BSM holding a 45-13 advantage in shots on goal, until just 1:08 remained in the game.

Jake Hankinson moved the puck out of his own zone and up the left, where Mortenson picked up the loose puck and raced into the St. Louis Park zone before depositing the puck into an empty net to finish the scoring.

Despite only facing 13 shots, Olson made several key combination saves when the Orioles were able to get in close and create rebound opportunities.

The Red Knights are now off for their Christmas break before returning action Thursday, when they face Stillwater at 10 a.m. in the Tradition Hockey for Life Classic, at the Dakotah! Ice Center in Prior Lake.
