Wayzata Wins Consolation Championship in Holiday Invitational Tournament

The Wayzata Trojans rebounded from an opening round 4-3 loss to Benilde with a 7-5 victory over Woodbury and a 6-0 win over Moorhead to claim the consolation championship the Holiday Invitational Tournament.

Wayzata Defeats Centennial, Duluth

The Wayzata boy’s hockey team moved to an undefeated 4-0 this week with victories over two high-ranked teams this past week, Centennial and Duluth East.

Turkey Trot Champions

Wayzata won the annual Turkey Trot Tournament at Plymouth Ice Center over Thanksgiving weekend with a 4-2 victory over the highly rated Edina Hornets.

Trojans Tie Tonka (Again)

Wayzata played #1-ranked Minnetonka to a 1-1 draw on January 30 and the teams tied again 3-3 on February 18. The Trojans, however, claimed the Classic Lake Conference Championship with an undefeated record of 6-0-2. (Minnetonka lost one game to Edina.)

Trojans Beat Edina

The Wayzata Trojans defeated the Edina Hornets 3-2 on Saturday for the third time this season. Previously the Trojans won 1-0 and 4-2. These photos are from the second and third match ups at Plymouth Ice Center and Braemar.

Wayzata Tops Hopkins

Wayzata defeated Hopkins 3-2 in overtime to become the 2009-2010 Classic Lake Conference Champions with a record of 6-0-2. The first 8 photos in this gallery are from the Trojans' 5-3 victory over Hopkins on Feb. 4. The remaining photos were taken during Wayzata's 3-2 OT win.
